Creative testing with AI buyer personas
Questions we get about the panel, what it reads and what it costs. To see it working, write to artem@ochlos.co.
- What is Ochlos?
- Ochlos builds a brand its own AI focus group. Four or five AI buyer personas are made from the brand's research, its customer data and open-web intelligence, which is what buyers say in public on forums, in social discussions and in reviews. The marketing team runs creative past them before spending media budget.
- What is an AI buyer persona?
- It is a buyer you can talk to. Each persona stands for one reason people buy the brand or walk away from it, it is built from that brand's own data, it reacts to a creative in its own words, and it answers when you ask why.
- What can I test with it?
- Ads and social creative, headlines, offers and copy, campaign concepts, landing pages, product pages and marketplace listings, newsletters and service messages, packaging, store signage and out-of-home boards.
- How is creative testing with AI personas different from a survey or a focus group?
- There is nobody to recruit and nothing to schedule, so an answer comes in minutes and at any hour, and the same panel can read hundreds of creatives. A survey measures people; this narrows a pile of ideas down to the ones worth running.
- How is this different from asking ChatGPT what it thinks of my ad?
- A general chatbot answers as an average of everything it has read. An Ochlos persona is built from one brand's own data, so the objection it raises and the words it uses come from that brand's buyers.
- What do you need to build our panel?
- Whatever research and customer data the brand already has: segments, interviews, surveys, CRM insights, feedback, campaign results. Where a brand has little of its own, the panel leans on open-web intelligence, the way buyers talk in public.
- How long does it take to set up?
- About two weeks from the data reaching us to the portal being live with the brand's own panel.
- Is there a limit on how many creatives we can run?
- No. Runs are not metered, so a team can put a whole batch through the panel, rewrite and run it again the same day.
- Who on the team can use it?
- The portal belongs to the brand, or to the agency that represents brands, and the whole marketing team works in it: brand, performance, creative, ecommerce and the agencies the brand works with.
- Does it tell me how the campaign will perform?
- No. It shows who each creative wins over and who it turns off, and why, so weak ideas are dropped before the media budget goes out. Performance is still decided in market.
- Has this matched real campaign results?
- In an earlier project, on the campaigns where the data allowed an honest comparison, the panel reproduced the real ranking by cost per order in 2 of 3 comparable groups. It is an encouraging direction, not a guarantee.
- How much does it cost and how do we start?
- From $1,290 per month for a brand panel; a pilot is scoped per brand. Write to artem@ochlos.co and we will show the portal on a call.
